Featuring ARM’s new Cortex-A77 cores
MediaTek announced their first 5G SoC at Computex 2019. Utilizing ARM’s new Mali-G77 GPU cores and Cortex-A77 CPU cores, the new SoC comes with an integrated 5G modem using MediaTek’s Helio M70 modem. With its design, MediaTek’s new processor supports 2G, 3G, 4G, and 5G networks without the need for a separate chip.
The processor is made using a 7nm process and comes with an all-new AI processing unit that is capable of advanced AI applications like image de-blurring. With its new GPU, MediaTek’s 5G processor supports 4k60 video and super high-resolution cameras up to 80-megapixels.
The processor will be available to devices by 2020.
