Meet Nikon’s VR-ready Action Camera, The KeyMission 360

A new, tough camera for your adventures

Aside from outing two of their newest DSLRs, Nikon also announced their entry to the action camera segment dominated by incumbent players like GoPro via their new KeyMission 360 camera. The new offering was designed from the ground up for 360-degree images and virtual reality, and is ready for rough and tumble play out of the box without a case. Nikon says that the KeyMission 360 is capable of being dropped 6.6 feet without any ill effects, and is waterproofed to depths of up to 100 feet.

While Nikon wasn’t exactly forthcoming with the innards that powered the KeyMission 360, the company says that their device is capable of 4K recording with electronic image stabilization thrown in. No price has been set as of yet for the new device, but you can bet it’ll demand a pretty penny considering its featureset.
