Meet The P1s, The First Ever Phone From Pepsi

Pepsi Phone

Rather decent spec to price ratio

When Pepsi said that they would be releasing their own smartphone, they weren’t kidding. Newly released in the China, the P1s marks the first ever Pepsi-branded smartphone, and we have to say, we’re quite surprised at how it turned out.

Pepsi P1s specs

  • 1.7GHz MediaTek MT6592 processor
  • 2GB of RAM
  • 5.5-inch full HD display with 2.5D glass, 1920 x 1080 resolution
  • 16GB of expandable storage
  • 13-megapixel rear camera
  • 5-megapixel front camera
  • Dual-SIM
  • 3G, LTE
  • WiFi, Bluetooth, GPS, A-GPS, Fingerprint scanner
  • Android 5.1 Lollipop with dido OS 6.1
  • 3000mAh battery

That’s because the P1s has a very decent price to spec ratio. Consider that it’s kitted out with a 5.5-inch full HD, 2.5D display, octa-core 1.7GHz MediaTek MT6592 processor, 2GB of RAM, 16GB of storage, 13-megapixel camera and a fingerprint scanner, all for as low as RMB 699, or 5.1K.

Of course, that’s not going to be the final price of the phone going forward. The P1s has been put in China’s equivalent of Kickstarter, and early backers get the phone at a discounted price of RMB 699. Once that’s all gone, the P1s gets a slighty higher price of RMB 999 or 7.3K, while the final production version will be priced at RMB 1299 or 9.5K.

  1. 6592 belongs to phones in the 4000 price range. It is indeed best to avoid buying from American, European or Japanese companies since they want to inflate the prices of their goods to sustain their first world lifestyles. We should not pay for their overpriced lattes.

By the way, unbox please do something about imitative trolls. That’s not me above. They’re clogging the comments section with their child – like banter.

    1. Those trolls are ruining the peace in comment sections, so please do something about it ..and if you cant drink it, i really won’t buy it.

  2. The back looks like an R7+ pero the capacitive keys looks generic.

    Anyway, dear PEPSI philippines,

    Please release this phone.
