MIUI 8 Officially Released for Xiaomi Devices

Xiaomi’s custom firmware solution MIUI has just launched its 8th stable version for the public. MIUI 8 brings upgradesĀ for Xiaomi devices such as a power saving mode, app startup management, a spam filter, an overhauled Notes app and Gallery app, and other miscellaneous improvements.

Xiaomi devices covered by the initial rollout:

  • Redmi 1S
  • Mi 2/2S
  • Mi 4i
  • Redmi Note 3G
  • Redmi Note 4G
  • Redmi 2 (Some)
  • Redmi Note 2 (Some)

Xiaomi has noted that their other devices will eventually be updated to the latest MIUI “in the near future.” These are the devices officially confirmed for a later update rollout:

  • Mi Max
  • Mi Note
  • Mi 5
  • Mi 4
  • Mi 4i
  • Mi 3
  • Mi 2
  • Redmi Note Prime
  • Redmi Note 3
  • Redmi Note 2
  • Redmi Note
  • Redmi 2 Prime
  • Redmi 2
  • Redmi 1s

If you’re one of the unlucky ones unable to update with this initial rollout (despite your phone being listed up there), don’t fret as Xiaomi’s “working on it.”
