Not happy with Android, iOS, BlackBerry 10 or Windows 8? Well you now have another alternative: Firefox OS. What’s so special about this one? Other than the slick user interface, it’s the world’s first open web device free from rules and restrictions of the more well-known platforms. With Firefox OS you can download apps (made from HTML5) directly from developers. Interested? The good news is that Smart has already announced that they are committed to bring Firefox OS phones to the Philippines. Boom!

Firefox also announced their device partners: ZTE, Alcatel, Huawei, and LG. These phones will be powered by Qualcomm chips so expect them to pack a punch.

I’m personally looking forward to getting some hands-on time with Firefox OS phones tomorrow at the exhibition area during Day 1 of the Mobile World Congress. Definitely exciting times for the tech industry!
