MWC 2018: HMD Global Goes Bananas With The Revival of the Nokia 8110

Clearly, nostalgia works

HMD Global made a splash at last year’s MWC with the 3310, and the company isn’t about to abandon the whole nostalgia centric strategy and has announced a new version of their iconic featurephone, the 8810 4G.

The 8810 4G retains the sliding form factor of its predecessor, updated with new features. These include 4G with a capability for WiFi hotspot. In addition, it is powered by KaiOS, giving the Nokia 8110 4G access to apps like Facebook, Twitter, and several games. Of course, being a retro classic, the 8110 4G also comes with Snake pre-installed with it.

Here’s a quick spec sheet for the retro classic feature phone:

  • 512MB RAM
  • 4GB Internal Storage
  • 2.4-inch QVGA display

The phone will be available come May this year, and will be priced at 79 Euros(~Php 5.1k).
