My Book VelociRaptor Duo for the Philippines
Western Digital just announced that the My Book VelociRaptor Duo is now available here in the Philippines. You’re probably wondering what this product is since the name sounds so bad ass right? Hehe. This is actually an external storage and connected home solution that uses two 1TB 10,000 RPM Hard Drives with Thunderbolt. What does this mean? Basically you can transfer big files (movies, images, etc.) with ridiculous speeds. In other words, this is like LTE speed for transferring your stuff!
According to the product flyer, you can transfer 500 high res photos in just 30 seconds or 2,000 MP3 Files in less than 10 seconds. Better yet you can transfer a Blu-Ray movie in just over a minute. Ideally this product is more for photographers, video editors, and artists who really handle large files.
The VelociRaptor also features a Dual drive RAID storage system. You can set the drive to provide double safe data protection by mirroring your files. If you don’t want to use this you can set it to JBOD (Just a Bunch of Disks) so you can use the two drives individually.
SRP is Php39,990 and it has a 3-year warranty. At that price it’s really meant for professionals. 😛
