MyPhone Iceberg’s Biggest Question Answered

One of the most anticipated smartphones right now is the MyPhone Iceberg. The device is equipped with very competitive specifications including a quad-core processor, 1GB of RAM, and a gorgeous 5.7-inch display. It also has several software customizations like Clever Motion which is a set of gesture-based controls. Not bad right?

MyPhone Iceberg Partial Spec Sheet

  • 1.2GHz Quad-core processor
  • 1GB RAM
  • 16GB Internal Storage
  • 5.7-inch HD IPS Display, Corning Gorilla Glass 2
  • 12.0-megapixel rear-facing camera with autofocus, LED flash, and BSI
  • 5.0-megapixel front-facing camera
  • 3G, HSPA+, WiFi, WiFi Hotspot, Bluetooth, GPS/aGPS
  • Android Jelly Bean 4.2.1

The most asked question about it right now though is if the MyPhone Iceberg will have expandable storage? We confirmed with a source from MyPhone and they said that it will NOT have expandable storage via microSD card. However you will be able to use the USB OTG cable so that you can just use your USB flash drives to access files and videos.

Is it a deal breaker? In all honesty we don’t think so. The phone still offers fantastic value for money given the specifications, features, and chassis design. If you need more storage just use the OTG or just delete the files you don’t need anymore when you’re done with them.

The MyPhone Iceberg launches next week, July 26, with an SRP of Php12,000. We’ll be there to cover the launch event. 🙂
