MyPhone Teases Multiple 700MHz Compliant Devices

We’ve seen both Globe and Smart start to take advantage of the recently acquired 700MHz band by putting up compliant cell towers in a matter of days, but unless your phone is a high-end device that supports the spectrum, their efforts are for naught. Right now only select high-end devices can take advantage of the frequency, leaving low-end devices that’s capable of LTE in the dust.

That fact isn’t lost on MyPhone, which teased a number of unreleased, 700MHz compliant products on their page recently. The new products include phones, a tablet and a pocket WiFi device.

We’ve been waiting for the company to unveil the second wave of their releases this year, and it looks like MyPhone is ready to do just that. Expect a multitude of announcements to happen in the next few weeks from the local brand.

  1. To put into perspective the feat of Smart and Globe of “putting up” 700MHz compliant towers in a few days: it’s actually pretty easy task to do. They dont have to build new towers per se. They just have to mount antennas intended for that band. You’ll notice that on towers or cell sites now with bigger than usual antennas.
