Waterproof, shockproof phone for emergencies

Like it or not, our country regularly gets hit with catastrophic storms and natural disasters. Having a shock proof, water proof phone for emergencies is almost a must if you live here. That’s why MyPhone has released their my112, a feature phone that’s been built to withstand disaster when it strikes.

Aside from being able to withstand the elements, the my112 also has a large, 6000mAhbattery that allows it out be used as a charger for other phones in case the lights go out. It glows in the dark, has a built-in flashlight and can go for more than a week on a single charge. The phone also has an SOS function that plays a siren to allow rescuers to find you easier if things go south. The phone is also decently priced, at just Php 1399.

    1. when you call using this phone, the one your calling cant hear you. There might be a problem with the speaker.

  1. Not bad…but it’s easy to claim something that it isn’t .. how efficient it is when used as a powerbank remains to be seen

  2. very handy. but i wonder if it runs out of juice and there’s no electricity yet, how many hours will it take to charge. I wish some company will make a emergency phone like this but powered by AAA’s.

      1. The link you provided (SpareOne 3G) says two AA batteries instead. Not bad… pair it up with 2 rechargeable Energizer batteries and it’s set.
        I wish it was made available in the Philippines, though.

  3. NICE IDEA AND PRACTICAL BUT I DON’T BELIEVE THAT THE CATHOLIC APPS (SUCH AS ALARMS FOR ANGELUS, THREE 0 CLOCK PRAYER ETC. ) SHOULD BE BUILT-IN. THEY MUST BE OPTIONAL DOWNLOADABLE PROGRAMS. DONT THEY REALIZE THAT NON-CATHOLICS MAY BE OFFENDED BY THESE APPS/PROGRAMS\? CELL PHONE PROGRAMS MUST ALWAYS BE APOLITICAL AS WELL AS NON-RELIGIOUS.

    1. Does your Nokia work on emergency? Can withstand 1 week without charging? Can charge other phones? Can be used as a power bank? Water proof? If yes, your nokia is good, if not, better shut up since you are barking on the wrong tree. Stop comparing a potato from a tomato.

  4. You can disable the angelus. Just go to pinoy heart icon click my|faith find angelus and click off and save.

  5. Papaano daw madisable yung flight mode sa phone na ito? hindi makita yung settings patungkol dito. Thanks in advance!
