Is this the new Butterfly?

While it’s no secret that HTC is able to make beautiful, fast smartphones, not everyone is enamored by the company’s switch to their ultrapixel camera sensor for imaging. There’s been plenty of documented cases of HTC’s camera sensor getting the purple hue of death on HTC One (M7) units which has understandably made people wary of the company’s newest One (M8) which uses the same technology. We’re positive that if the company used a more conventional camera tech, then more people may be more inclined to make the switch to HTC.

According to the latest benchmark leak from AnTuTu, it seems that will be the case for the company’s new device. The leak details a smartphone that has roughly the same specifications as the new One (M8) but is listed as sporting a more conventional 13-megapixel camera instead of the 4-ultrapixel in the One (M8). The leak also coincides with HTC’s device refresh schedule for its Butterfly series of smartphones, which is due this June or July. The previous device in the Buttefly Series was the Butterfly S, which also had a 4-ultrapixel camera module.
