Nike Brings Power Lacing to a New Level with the Adapt BB

The smartest smart shoe out there?

All of us were amazed when we saw those power-lacing Nike Mags in Back to the Future. The futuristic shoe was released twice in limited quantities: in 2011 and in 2016 with the power lacing feature.

Nike eventually made the power lacing tech mainstream with the HyperAdapt 1.0 last year. The first power lacing sneaker that was sold officially costed a fortune, so Nike made a more affordable—and smarter version of its power lacing sneakers with the Adapt BB.

For the smarter part, the Adapt BB comes with FitAdapt, a new tech that makes the sneaker work together with a dedicated app. On the app, you can input different fit settings depending on certain moments in the game. Nike explains that during basketball matches, players’ feet can swell up to up to half a size bigger. With FitAdapt, players get the best fit with the Adapt BB regardless of the playing situation.

On top of that, the Adapt BB comes with cool features like the ability to change the shoe’s two LED lights depending on the scenario, wireless charging so that you can give them a boost in case the battery runs dry, and future firmware updates.

The Nike Adapt BB will make its global debut on February 17 for $350(~Php 18.3k).
