The Papers Have Been Signed. It’s Official.
You may have read the report that Nokia will be using Xiaomi’s own Surge S1 chipset for a couple of their upcoming units. Well, it looks like the two companies are looking to take their business relationship to the next level by signing a cooperation and patent agreement. So, what does that mean?
Under the terms of the agreement, Nokia will be providing Xiaomi with network infrastructure. Both companies will also be working towards finding data transport and connections solutions; eventually looking into the area of the Internet of Things (IoT).
While things don’t sound as sexy in the signed cooperation deal, especially for most of us looking into a Nokia x Xiaomi smartphone love-child, the two companies could be working on something else on the down-low.
