Official ASUS PH Zenfone 2 Variants: ZE551ML and ZE500CL

No ZE550ML?

Here’s an official update courtesy of the ASUS Philippines website — ASUS PH will be launching two variants of the Zenfone 2: the ZE551ML (both 2GB and 4GB versions) and the entry level ZE500CL. Noticeably absent is the ZE550ML with the 5.5-inch HD display that has been popping up all over in grey market stores. We’re hoping that the reason why they skipped the ZE550ML was because they were able to figure out a way to lower the price of the flagship ZE551ML. ASUS PH already has a penchant for having the lowest Zenfone prices in the world, let’s hope they continue with that trend with the upcoming Zenfone 2.

No word yet on the official SRP but we have a strong gut feeling that ASUS PH has a huge surprise up their sleeves. Let’s all cross our fingers folks and hope that they price the flagship competitively. They’ve already done that in the past with the Zenfone 5, so there’s a strong possibility that they may do it again for the Zenfone 2.

  1. kakainis asus.. alam kasi nila people will go for the ze550ml, pnakasulit un, 9k vs 12k for the 2G ze551ml, hd at full hd lang ang pinag iba, ganda ng screen asus strain lang s batt ang full hd.. tsktsk..

  2. I wonder whether the performance of the ZE551ML (w/ a Z3560 clocked @ 1.8ghz, 2gb ram 1080p) would be worse compared to the ZE550ML (same chipset, 720p) variant. Why? The only difference between the two is the screen resolution. 1080p and 720p respectively. How will this affect performance and batt life?

    1. I wonder whether the brain of mark(April 12, 2015 at 12:28 am) would be worse compared to inis(April 11, 2015 at 7:46 pm). Why? because fuck you that’s why!

    2. Simply put: the higher the resolution the more it will tax the processor, battery and yes the gpu. Hence 720p would be more than enough. The difference against 1080p is not that noticeable anyway.
