To be a key feature for the OnePlus 8 Pro
Ahead of the official launch of the OnePlus 8 series, OnePlus confirmed that they will have their own wireless charging solution with Warp Charge 30 Wireless. In its official blog, OnePlus said that their wireless charging tech can top up a device from 0 to 50% in half an hour. To make this possible, OnePlus uses a proprietary solution that involves two charge pump processes (starting at20V/1.5A from the wireless charger, then 10V/3A at Charge Pump 1, then down to 5V/6A at Charge Pump 2) to attain a 97% charging efficiency. Beyond fast wireless charging speeds, OnePlus’ official wireless charger supports normal Qi speeds of up to 10w.
Evan Blass shared renders of the upcoming charger, confirming the large vent at the back for the cooling fan. Heating is an issue with fast charging speeds, and OnePlus solves this by incorporating a fan into the wireless charging dock. The fan has a quiet mode feature when wirelessly charging a device at night.
Expect to know more about WarpCharge 30 Wireless and the OnePlus 8 series on April 14.
