To go against TV offerings from Sony and Samsung
With OnePlus slated to launch their first smart TV next month, a leaked listing divulged most of the TV’s specs.
Carrying the codename Dosa (which is an Indian dish), the OnePlus TV will sport a yet-unknown MediaTek Mt5670 processor paired with 3GB RAM, and will run an optimized version Android Pie out of the box.
While the resolution is listed at Full HD, this is most likely for the menu; the OnePlus TV will support up to 4K resolution based on current rumors.
As for the display, the OnePlus TV is confirmed to use a 55-inch QLED panel, though there are reports of other screen sizes to be launched outside of India. OnePlus CEO Pete Lau elaborated in an interview that the OnePlus TV will go against “the most premium quality products currently available in the market” like Samsung and Sony.
