While the A72 did make it official in the Philippines, that phone is a 4G device aimed towards the budget mid-range segment. Over in China, OPPO is set to launch a 5G version of the A72 with a different design.
Instead of a quad-rear camera setup, the A72 5G settles for a triple rear camera array comprising of a 16-megapixel main camera, 8-megapixel ultra-wide-angle camera, and 2-megapixel depth sensor. On the front, you get a 6.5-inch display with a smoother 90hz refresh rate and a punch-hole for the 8-megapixel selfie snapper.
For the internals, the A72 5G is listed to have an unknown MediaTek MT6853V processor with 4GB/6GB/8GB RAM and 128GB internal storage. The battery is said to be at 4040mAh and comes with 18w USB-C charging.
The said listing also has the price as well: the 4GB/128GB, 6GB/128GB, and 8GB/128GB variants are priced at CNY 1699(~Php 12.1k), CNY 1799(~Php 12.8k), and CNY 1999(~Php 14.2k) respectively. No word yet when it will launch, but all the details in this listing indicate that it will become official soon in China.
