OPPO Now No 3 In PH, According To GfK

OPPO F1s

Chinese manufacturer OPPO has officially climbed up to no. 3 spot in the PH, according to research firm GfK. According to GfK’s data, the brand has officially edged out LG to grab the third spot in overall marketshare in the PH at 8%. Samsung still holds the top spot at 34%, while Cherry Mobile holds the second position at 10%. The newest study covers the period of up to June 2016. Top 5 ranking are as follows:

  • Samsung 34%
  • Cherry Mobile 10%
  • OPPO 8%
  • LG 7%
  • MyPhone 7%

Even more astounding is the brand’s current performance in overall sales. The company posted 293.1% year on year growth this 2016. That’s followed by Huawei who grew 249% in the same period. Other notable winners include Cloudfone (199%), MyPhone (116.3%), Starmobile (94.4%) and ASUS (87.8).

OPPO’s meteoric YOY growth can be attributed to their aggressive marketing efforts in both online and the traditional space, as well as the release of their relatively affordable F series of selfie-centric smartphones. Partnerships with online shopping portals like Home Credit also contributed to the company’s excellent performance the first half of the year.

IMO lang ha, but if you can’t afford a premium product, don’t wish for a premium product. Mahal man yung sa ASUS but the quality of their new line-up’s materials are a far cry from the Zenfone 2.
