It is one of the highest-rated mid-range phones out there
While Google’s Pixel 3a is more of a mid-range phone, that does not mean that it scrimps on performance—particularly with the camera department. Equipped with the same camera module found on the more expensive Pixel 3, it does not come to a surprise that the Pixel 3a will do well in DxOMark’s tests.
With a DxOMark score of 100, the Pixel 3a ranks a point below the Pixel 3 and iPhone XR, making it very impressive for a mid-range phone.
For the photo category, the Pixel 3a excelled well with its fast and accurate autofocus and consistent exposure, where it comes close to the iPhone XR’s performance when shooting high-contrast scenes. As for color reproduction, the Pixel 3a scored slightly better than the Pixel 3.
While the Pixel 3a is not a performer when it comes to videos, DxOMark notes that the Pixel 3a remains to be a capable video shooter, with results comparable to the Pixel 3.
