Pixel 4 Scores 112 in DxOMark, Matches Mate 20 Pro Score

The Galaxy S10+ and OnePlus 7 Pro scored higher than the Pixel 4

DxOMark got their hands on the Pixel 4, and gave Google’s latest phone an overall score of 122, matching the score of 2018’s Mate 20 Pro. The Pixel 4’s overall score is a bit underwhelming, as several phones scored higher: namely, Huawei’s P30 Pro and Mate 30 Pro, Samsung’s Galaxy S10+ and Note 10+, and the OnePlus 7 Pro.

While the Pixel 4 improved over its predecessor with fast autofocus, better-than-ever Night Sight mode, and more accurate skin tones and white balance, DxOMark explains that the Pixel 4 is behind the competition due to the lack of a ToF sensor and ultra-wide-angle camera—the latter being a standard feature of its rivals.

That aside, DxOMark commends the Pixel 4 for its zoom feature, adding that the Pixel 4’s telephoto lens produced consistent exposures and works great with close-up shots.
