Qualcomm Accidentally Leaks the New Asus Zenfone AR

Oops. Someone made a boo-boo at Qualcomm.

We pretty much know that ASUS is set to launch its newest addition to the Zenfone 3 family at CES 2017, the Zenfone 3 Zoom, but what else could the Taiwanese brand have in store for the attendees in Las Vegas? Well, we have at least one more smartphone to look forward to. Thanks to someone who was a little overeager to share at Qualcomm’s News Room, we now know that ASUS is set to launch the Zenfone AR; a phone that will ship with both Google Tango and Daydream capabilities.

According to the post, the ASUS Zenfone AR will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 to make sure it can handle Google’s augmented reality and virtual reality programs. Other than that, not much is known about the rest of its specs; so we’ll have to wait and see what else the Zenfone AR has under the hood, its availability, and its pricing.

Qualcomm has already recognized its error and has taken down the post in its News Room. Oops.
