Claimed to be 40% Faster than the Snapdragon 630

San Diego-based chipmaker Qualcomm launched its newest mid-range processor with the Snapdragon 636. Positioned between the Snapdragon 630 and 660, the Snapdragon makes use of eight Kyro cores (compared to ARM cores found in the 630) rated at 1.8Ghz, making it up to 40% faster than its predecessor.

It also uses an Adreno 509 GPU, and has support for 18:9 FHD+ displays, QuickCharge 4.0, Bluetooth 5.0, and up to 8GB LPDDR4 Dual-channel RAM. Just like the Snapdragon 630, the Snapdragon 660 is built on a 14nm process, and is software-compatible those using Snapdragon 660 and 630.
