Razer really loves PH fans

As you know, Razer is setting up their second flagship store in the Philippines, and it’s a pretty big deal. But for many, it seems that the PH is an odd destination for Razer’s second flagship store, especially when you consider there are bigger and more lucrative markets that Razer could set up shop in.

That fact hasn’t escaped Razer CEO Min-Liang Tan, who felt compelled to answer the question on his official Facebook page.

“I’m sure we’d make more money if we set up the next Razerstore in some countries other than the Philippines – but that’s not what we’re about,” he says. “Money isn’t everything to us – the community means a lot more to us. The community, the fans – means a lot to me,” he adds.

“So it’s not about how much money we can make or how much we can sell etc – it’s about the community, it’s about our fans, it’s about our love for gaming and the gamers around us. And that’s why the next flagship store is going to be in the Philippines, even when it doesn’t make financial sense for us – because it makes perfect sense for our fans there,” he concludes.

Min-Lian Tan, consider us one of your fans. That’s probably the best answer that anybody who cares about the gaming community could give.

His full statement is below.

I believe it’s no longer a secret that the Razer fans in Philippines came together to vote it as the destination for our next Razerstore when we ran the poll.

However, I’ve been getting a lot of messages like “Why bother with PH? You’ll make more money if you set up a store in [XYZ]!”
