The young brand grew 808% year over year
While Realme is just 17 months old, this brand is making waves all world. In fact, the latest Counterpoint report stated that Realme is the fastest-growing smartphone brand for 2019, jumping from 47th place in 3rd quarter 2018 to 7th place in 3rd quarter 2018.
Since its founding last May 2018, Realme has expanded to more than 20 countries, with India and Indonesia as its key markets. In India, Realme is the number one brand in Flipkart in Q3 2019 and second in the overall online market thanks to its aggressive online channel strategy paired with attractive design and value for money specs.
In Indonesia, Realme is the fastest brand to reach one million units in Q3 2019 thanks to strong sales for the Realme C2 and Realme 3.
While Realme made its name in the budget and mid-range segment, the young brand is working to dominate the affordable flagship segment with the Realme XT and Realme X2 Pro.
“We expect Realme to become a serious contender in the market next year as growth will continue in emerging markets and online channels,” the report said.
