Redmi Note 8 Series to be First Phones to Use MediaTek’s Helio G90T Processor

The vanilla Note 8 might use a 48-megapixel camera

After confirming the launch date for the Redmi Note 8 series yesterday, Xiaomi continues to reveal more details about the upcoming budget mid-range phones. In its latest teaser poster, the brand confirmed that both phones will use MediaTek’s gaming-focused Helio G90T processor.

This corroborates previous reports that Redmi will be the first phone to use MediaTek’s latest processor. To recap, the Helio G90T is a 12nm-based processor that makes use of Cortex-A76 and A55 CPU cores and Mali-G76 GPU cores. The processor natively supports 64-megapixel cameras and quadruple rear camera setups, along with up to 240fps video recording.

While the Redmi Note 8 Pro will use a 64-megapixel camera, the Redmi Note 8 is rumored to use a 48-megapixel snapper instead. Both phones will have a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner and NFC.
