Report: ASUS Launching Zenfone 4 Series Smartphones in May

Jerry Shen, ASUS’s CEO, announced at a press release last week that the company plans to double its handset sales for 2017. Last year, the Taiwanese electronics firm sold around 20 million smartphones. Shen is aiming for almost double that figure for 2017, at around 35-40 million units moved.

According to insider information, ASUS means to go about that target by increasing the number of phone releases for the year. Based on the report, the company’s Zenfone 4 series is speculated for a Q2 launch. Taiwan’s Computex Taipei expo, to be held at the end of May, will most likely be the main venue for ASUS’s showcase of the new Zenfone 4 line-up.

As for rumors and leaks on upcoming Zenfone 4 phones, there’s barely any information yet from the usual leaksters, aside from a supposed 5.2-inch handset with a 4850 battery pack – possibly the next ZF4 Max. We’ll keep you posted on new information as it trickles down from the rumor grapevine.
