We’re used to seeing displays landscapes at the usual 16:9 norm for the last couple of years, so it comes to no surprise that 18:9 and 18.5:9 aspect ratios (courtesy of the flagship devices from both LG and Samsung) would be praised for their looks. It seems like another brand may be getting into the mix, as reports have started surface that Sony maybe announcing a smartphone with a 18:9 display at IFA later this year.
The report comes out of a post found on Weibo and if reports are true then we may be adding another smartphone to watch out from the Japanese brand? Sadly, there aren’t any leaked specs for the phone, but a display like this would mostly like make it onto a flagship level device.
This also begs the question: Are we starting to move on from the dual camera craze and into bigger screen-to-body ratios with these 18:9 displays?
