Samsung has officially taken the wraps off of the newest member of their On family of smartphones, the On8. The On8, part of the company’s online-only series of devices, is equipped with a nicer body and hardware for the price that Samsung is asking for. Specifically, the phone has a metal frame that’s quite reminiscent of the design on the more premium Galaxy A9 Pro.

Samsung Galaxy On8

  • 1.6GHz Exynos 7580 octa-core processor
  • 3GB of RAM
  • 5.5-inch Full HD Super AMOLED display, 1920 x 1080
  • 16GB of expandable storage
  • 13-megapixel rear camera with f/1.9 aperture, LED flash
  • 5-megapixel front camera with f/1.9 aperture
  • Dual SIM
  • 3G, LTE
  • WiFi, Bluetooth, GPS, A-GPS
  • 3,300mAh battery
  • Android 6.0 Marshmallow

Aside from that nicer metal frame, the On8 also has a 5.5-inch full HD Super AMOLED display, 1.6GHz octa-core processor, 3GB of RAM, 16GB of expandable storage, a 13-megapixel rear camera with a f/1.9 lens, AF and LED flash, a 5-megapixel front-facing camera with a f/1.9 lens and LED flash, 3,300mAh battery and Android 6.0 Marshmallow.

The Galaxy On8 is priced at INR 15,900, which is roughly 11.5K without taxes and duties. The phone is being offered only through Flipkart in India, which indicates its online-only nature – Samsung did the same thing when they offered the On7 here in the Philippines.
