Now just $99
Samsung and Oculus have partnered yet again for another Gear VR headset, but this time around even plebes like us can finally partake on their vision of virtual reality. The new Gear VR headset is similar to the previous offering in terms of design, but the new device is lighter and carries a more palatable $99 (4.6K) price tag, a huge decrease in price considering that the previous iterations started at $199 (9.3K).
Samsung says that the new Gear VR is “compatible with even more smartphones” and will obviously work with the company’s Galaxy Note 5, Galaxy S6 Edge+, S6 and S6 Edge. The new VR headset will be available this fall (around November) in the US, with wider availability after.
