Samsung Galaxy S9 Plus First Shots In Barcelona

We take the Galaxy S9 Plus’ camera for a spin!

While the Galaxy S9 Plus was launched last Sunday with its little brother, we’ve had little time to actually stretch the phone’s legs because of our coverage of Mobile World Congress here in Barcelona, Spain. With the show finally coming to a close today, we’ve had a few hours to take a gander at the city and take the phone’s camera out for a spin.

Despite our short time exploring the city, we’re thoroughly impressed with the image quality produced by the S9 Plus’ dual cameras. Let’s take a look:

The majestic Sagrada De Familia
Details caught by the S9 Plus’ 2x optical zoom camera
Just a sample of the interesting architecture in Barcelona
Notice the details in the fur of this good doggo
Lots of details in the shot captured by the main camera
Close up shot of OK Go’s front man Damian Kulash made possible by the Galaxy S9 Plus’ 2x optical zoom
More interesting architecture
Even lighting and contrast despite fading light
Even with strong backlight, detail is still present in the shot
That’s a BIG bike
There’s still plenty of detail and color in the image despite being shot at 8 in the evening

Here’s a short clip of OK GO performing one of our favorite songs:

We’re impressed so far with the camera performance of the Galaxy S9 Plus, though we will still have to finish our review of the device to be able to give you our verdict. But we’re honestly floored by how much the camera of the S9 Plus has improved over last year’s offering, and we’re not surprised that DxOMark gave the S9 Plus a score of 99 in their recent tests.
