Your next flagship may well have 256GB of storage in it
Not content with 128GB of storage on your phone? Well Korean juggernaut Samsung will be taking care of that real soon – the firm has just announced that they’ve started production of the world’s first 256GB embedded memory module for phones. The new module is based on the Universal Flash Storage 2.0 standard, which performs way, way faster than the current generation.
How fast are these new chips? Well Samsung says that the new module can exceed speeds of a typical SATA connected SSD inside a desktop PC. That’s blistering fast storage when you need it, which means flagship phones as early as next year will be blistering fast thanks to Samsung’s new tech.
