Samsung Malaysia Confirms IP68 Water-Resistance for the Galaxy A (2017) Series

Great news for Samsung fans out there. Samsung Malaysia has confirmed that the 2017 series of Galaxy A smartphones will all be certified with IP68 water-resistance. Rumors are pointing to the upcoming Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in early January 2017 as the venue for Samsung’s showcasing of the new A line-up.

For those unversed in IP (Ingress Protection) ratings, a device rated with IP68 means it can withstand being submerged in water up to 1.5 meters for a maximum of 30 minutes.

The confirmation comes from a teaser image Samsung Malaysia uploaded on their Facebook page. No confirmation yet from the Korean tech titan on which phones will be showing up at the tech expo in Las Vegas.
