Samsung’s going all-in with VR
VR is becoming a hot ticket item nowadays, with multiple companies coming out with their own solutions. Samsung have been making in roads to the tech starting with their partnership with Oculus which resulted in the Gear VR. Today the company has announced the newest foundation in their VR strategy, the Gear 360, their own 360 degree camera for making virtual videos.
The Samsung Gear 360 is equipped with dual fisheye lenses that have 15-megapixel image sensors, capable of capturing 3840×1920 videos. The cameras are equipped with f/2.0 aperture lenses, and syncs seamlessly with their Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge. It will also be compatible with the Galaxy Galaxy S6 edge+, Galaxy Note 5, Galaxy S6 edge and Galaxy S6.
Samsung says that the Gear 360 will start shipping in Q2 in select countries, no price has been set as of yet.
