The Samsung Smart TV not only is a gorgeous piece of hardware, it also offers a lot of features that leverages the social power of the Internet. With SocialTV users can actually watch 2D or 3D television and post Twitter and Facebook updates. The screen can be split so that you can have a section specifically for your social networking needs. There’s also the option to use it as your primary Skype machine — talk about giant video conferencing! It also has a SearchAll feature which will pull content from web streaming sites such as Youtube directly into your LED TV. Oh… and did I mention it was just gorgeous? See below for the photo.
The Smart TV alos interfaces with your other Samsung gadgets. You can download the Samsung Smart TV remote control application letting you control the functions of the TV with your Android phone or tablet.
Samsung also said they will be launching a TV App Store. It will be interesting to see what kind of applications they’ll be releasing. This puts them directly in competition with Apple’s iTunes. I actually won’t be surprised if Apple eventually ventured into the TV market by expanding their Cinema Display line.
