Samsung Teases Galaxy M Series, the Brand’s First Notched Phone

Featuring the Infinity-V display

Before we get our hands on the Galaxy S10 family, Samsung will be unveiling the Galaxy M series in India. Slated for a January 28 release, the new line will reportedly replace the Galaxy J and Galaxy On lines.

Samsung even has a microsite for the upcoming series, and if we judge its potential features from the teaser photos, the Galaxy M series shapes to be a promising new model from the South Korean brand.

To start off, the Galaxy M series will utilize an Infinity-V display, making it the first Samsung phone to have a notch. You have a dual rear camera setup, with one of the snappers sporting a wide-angle lens. There’s a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner as well.

You are getting a USB-C port and a headphone jack with the upcoming Galaxy M, which is definitely a good move from Samsung. In addition, Samsung brags about the Galaxy M’s big battery and fast charging.

Judging from the teaser images, it seems that they refer to the Galaxy M20. To recap, the Galaxy M20 is rumored to have an Exynos 7885 processor, 3GB RAM, 6-inch IPS display, 8-megapixel front camera, 15-megapixel and 5-megapixel rear cameras, and a generous 5000mAh battery.

If the teasers do deliver its promise and Samsung gives it a good price, the Galaxy M series should help Samsung improve its slumping sales.

UPDATE: it looks like the first Galaxy M will be the Galaxy M20. Here are a few excerpts from its manual, highlighting features like USB-C, headphone jack, NFC, fingerprint scanner, and face unlock.
