Samsung to Push Update for the Infinity Display’s “Red Tint Issue”

Red Tint Fix Incoming!

Samsung Infinity Display on the Galaxy S8 and S8+ may give the phone its sexy profile, but we have been hearing a few complaints about it online. You may have heard but some users have complained about the display having a bit of a reddish tint to it. According to an article we found online via ZDNet, a representative of a Korean firm said that this was not a issue with quality and gave the following statement regarding the display:

“The Galaxy S8 was built with an adaptive display that optimizes the color range, saturation, and sharpness depending on the environment. If needed, users can manually adjust the color range of the display to change the appearance of white tones, through ‘Settings > Display > Screen Mode > Color balance’.”

Seeing that the issue may be more on the software side of things, Samsung is pushing an update next week that will correct the color balance of the phone and tweak the software that runs the adaptive display. As the Samsung Rep mentioned, this can be tweaked manually in the settings, and the update will also include a broader color range to adjust the display as you see fit.
