Samsung Working on an AirDrop-Like File Sharing Solution

To debut on the Galaxy S20 Series

Aside from OPPO, vivo, and Xiaomi’s upcoming hassle-free file sharing service, Samsung is developing its own solution in the form of Quick Share. Said to be their answer to Apple’s AirDrop, Quick Share works similar to Apple’s feature as it allows Galaxy users to share files wirelessly. Like AirDrop, Quick Share has the option of limiting sharing and receiving files to contacts only.

What makes Quick Share unique is that it will let you share files to Samsung SmartThings devices, where the files are temporarily uploaded to Samsung Cloud and then streamed to the said device. This feature, however, has file size limits: 1GB at a time or up to 2GB per day.

Quick Share is expected to launch with the Galaxy S20 series and will be available to other Galaxy devices via a software update.
