Samsung’s Galaxy J7 (2016) Will Carry Exynos 7870 Processor

The new budget smartphone will get a brand new processor

Samsung’s budget Galaxy J7 was a hit last year, so much so that the company is making a successor device this year. As with refreshed models, the new smartphone will carry better specs than the original, which include a better processor. While the phone is rumored to have a Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 SoC, there’s another version of the phone coming out that will come with Samsung’s new Exynos 7870 SoC, at least according to several benchmarks.

The new SoC has a 1.7Ghz clock speed, but Samsung’s cutting the available RAM to just 2GB over the 3GB in the Qualcomm 615 version. The new phone is rumored to have a 3000mAh battery, a full HD display and probably Marshmallow on board, along with a 13-megapixel rear camera with a 5-megapixel front.

    1. IIRC, the original J7 retailed for (I think) 13k (12,995). Since this is just a refreshed version and not a new model, we can sorta presume it’ll be priced the same.
