Samsung’s New 8K TV Practically Ditches the Bezels

Featuring a mind-boggling 99% screen-to-body ratio

Ahead of CES 2020, Samsung announced their latest flagship TV in the form of the Q950TS 8K QLED TV. What makes this new TV insane is not just is thickness, but its bezels—this TV has practically no bezels!

Utilizing a new Infinity Screen, Samsung managed to place literally all screen on the front, resulting in a crazy 99% screen-to-body ratio that makes the TV blend seamlessly with any furniture or installation.

Samsung’s 8K QLED TV has Samsung’s AI Quantum chip that upscales any content to 8K resolution, along with OTS + (Object Tracking Sound Plus) that lets the TV deliver 5.1 surround sound without the need for external speakers—this is done by recognizing moving objects in the video and “moving” the sound through the TV’s speakers.

Other features include AVA (Active Voice Amplifier) for intelligently adjusting the video speaker’s voice according to the ambient noise, Adaptive Picture for letting the TV optimize the viewing experience based on the environment around it, and Digital Butler for recognizing older (read: non-smart) devices not connected to the internet.

Samsung is expected to reveal more about its bezel-less TV at CES 2020.
