Samsung’s Note 8 Beats The HTC U11 In Our Blind Camera Test

DXoMark scores don’t mean much against the Galaxy Note 8

A few days ago we started our blind camera test that pit the Galaxy Note 8 against the HTC U11, aka the phone that has the highest score currently in DXoMark. From handling the Galaxy Note 8 in the past few days we know that its dual rear cameras are pretty solid, and can take absolutely great photos even in challenging light.

But the U11 is no slouch in the camera department either, though it looks our readers prefer the Galaxy Note 8’s camera compared to the U11. Around 64% of the votes voted for Phone A, which was the Galaxy Note 8, while only 36% of people voted for phone B, which was the U11 during press time.

Indeed, while we noticed that the U11 was pretty strong in the camera department, we noticed that it had issues with HDR and automatic exposure when shooting subjects that were heavily backlit. The Galaxy Note 8 didn’t have the same problems in our experience with the phone.

The U11 does have a slightly wider FOV, which means you can fit more stuff into your shot compared to the Galaxy Note 8.

That’s pretty much it for this blind camera test! Head on over to the links below to read our reviews of the two phones:
