Is it Worth an Upgrade?

Apple announced the new iPhone 6S and iPhone 6S Plus yesterday alongside the iPad Pro and the 4th generation Apple TV. While we’re pretty much set on buying the iPad Pro and the Apple TV, we’re having second thoughts on plunking down our hard earned cash for the new iPhone (we already have an iPhone 6).

Let’s take a closer look at what the iPhone 6S offers. Here’s a screencap of the keynote highlighting it’s main features and specifications:

Ultimately there are two big differences: the iPhone 6S has 3D touch and a more improved camera (both front and back).

Let’s face it. The camera on the iPhone 6 is already ridiculously awesome. It’s still one of the, if not the, best mobile phone cameras in the world. The bump up to 12MP is definitely awesome but is it worth shelling out a lot of cash for? In our opinion, no. Next, the 3D Touch feature is something we want, but it’s not something that we need. If you need an explanation of what 3D Touch is about, watch the video below.

So all-in-all, if you’re already rocking an iPhone 6, we recommend you skip the iPhone 6S. Just wait for the iPhone 7 and the upgrades might be more significant. Instead of buying a new iPhone, just invest in a nice LED TV and get the new Apple TV. That makes so much more sense, hehe. But hey if you’re a die-hard fan and you REALLY want it, just sell your iPhone 6 so you don’t have to spend too much on your upgrade.

On a separate note, if you’re using an iPhone 5S or below though then this is the best time to go for an upgrade. You skipping the iPhone 6 will pay off if you go for this one.
