Sony is going back to their legacy products to differentiate their brand against other Android-powered smartphones in the market. For the past few months we’ve been seeing them build up the Walkman brand again. Just recently they announced a new handset called the Live with Walkman. It’s an Android smartphone with a 1GHz processor, 3.2″ touchscreen, 5MP camera, 320 RAM, and 32GB of microSD. These really aren’t killer stats if you peg it against other phones but it does support HSPA+ and it has a vibrant audio player.

There’s no official SRP yet but if they price this low enough people might consider this as a music player that can do phone calls and texts and not the other way around. They expect this to hit the US market in Q4 which probably means we’ll get it Q1-Q2 2012.
