New version of the Z4 exlcusively for Verizon customers

Sony’s latest flagship, the Xperia Z4/Z3+ has been making appearances all over the world, and this time a slightly tweaked version has been launched in the US. The Z4v as it’s known, retains some of the design elements of the Z4/Z3+ but has received improvements in the battery, display and charging department. First off, the 5.2-inch full HD display has been replaced with a quad HD panel. The battery has also been bolstered by a few mAh to account for the higher resolution display (3000mAh over the original 2930mAh) and the phone now has built-in Qi and PMA wireless charging support.

Sony Xperia Z4v specs

  • Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 octa-core processor
  • 3GB of RAM
  • 5.2-inch QHD display, Shatter proof glass, Triluminos display
  • 32/64GB of storage, expandable via microSD
  • 20.7-megapixel rear camera
  • 5-megapixel front camera
  • 3G, LTE
  • WiFi, Bluetooth, GPS, A-GPS, GLONASS, NFC
  • Android 5.0 Lollipop
  • 3000mAh battery

The improvements don’t come without a price though – the Xperia Z4v is now 1.7mm thicker than the Z4/Z3+ to account for the improvements. Aside from the tweaks mentioned above, the Z4v still has the same specs as its other brothers, and still rocks Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 810 processor with 3GB of RAM and IP64 and 68 water and dust resistance.

If you haven’t guessed by now, the Z4v is a Verizon exclusive, and will not be available in other countries and territories.
