The HDR-AS50 is a refinement of their previous models
We loved Sony’s Action Cams, but they weren’t as refined as we would have liked them to be when we used it. Sony’s making things right with their new, refined action cam, the AS50. The AS50 integrates many of the lessons Sony learned with their previous models, which include a built-in 1/4-20 tripod mount (which was missing in other models), repositioned ports (they’re now at the back for easier access) and a newer underwater case that has a flat front for less distortion as well as a deeper depth rating – 60 meters as opposed to the mere 15 meters of the previous model.
The action cam sports an 11-megapixel Exmor R BSI CMOS sensor though you are still limited up to 1080p, 60FPS video capture – 4K can only be had through the time-lapse mode. Early projections of the price is around #350 or around Php 16.4K in our currency.
