Looks damn good too

We’ve seen GoPros and other cameras used to shoot 360 video, but we haven’t a lot of people use smartphones to accomplish the same feat. Sony wanted to prove a point in their latest video, and done exactly just that – the video above was shot with 12 Xperia Z5 Compacts on a special 3D printed rig. Each of the 12 handsets shot 4K video and then Sony stitched them together to form a 360 video, and while it’s obviously possible, it’s not the most practical solution in the market.

With each Z5 Compact having a sticker of Php 29,990, the entire rig would cost around 360K without the specialized mount, which doesn’t make it the most practical 3D shooter ever. Still it’s a nice demo of what the shooting capabilities of the Z5 family, since the cameras in the devices are all virtually identical.
