And it finally comes with a microphone jack
Sony updates its prosumer RX100 compact camera with a bunch of features normally reserved for its higher-end A-series cameras. To kick things off, the RX100 VII sports an all-new 1-inch stacked 20.1-megapixel sensor paired with a BIONZ X image processor.
The RX100 VII borrows a few features from the A9 that include an insane 20FPS image shooting with AE/AF and without viewfinder blackout. If that is not fast enough, the RX100 VII has a Single Burst shooting mode, where you are presented with seven images at the click of a shutter. You can choose between 30FPS, 60FPS, or 90FPS depending on what you are shooting–which is pretty insane for a compact camera.
On the autofocus side, you get a total of 357 phase detection AF points and 425 contrast detection AF points. You get real-time eye tracking and eye detection, along with an increased AF/AE calculation at 60 times per second. Again, this is a compact camera we are talking about.
The improvements are not limited to photos. On the video side, the RX100 VII gains a 3.5mm microphone jack, along with full pixel readout at 4K, Â Log and HLG for HDR workflows, support for vertical video recording, 960FPS slow motion, and improved image stabilization
The RX100 VII is priced at $1200(~Php 61.5k) for the camera only and $1300(~Php 66.6k) with the shooting grip and will be available starting next month.
