Sony’s Xperia XZ4 Aims to Give the Galaxy S10+ A Run for its Money

Sony is going all out

The legacy Japanese brand has confirmed their presence at MWC 2019 with a press event on February 25. The Xperia XZ4 is expected to be unveiled that day, and it seems that Sony intends to outclass Samsung’s Galaxy S10+.

According to a leaked spec sheet, the Xperia XZ4 will have 6GB RAM, 128GB internal storage, Snapdragon 855 processor, 4400mAh battery with USB-PD charging, and a 6.5-inch Full HD+ OLED display with a 21:9 aspect ratio.

From the leaked spec sheet, the Xperia XZ4’s battery and display aspect ratio are the standout features. For the former, it is the biggest battery for a flagship smartphone, beating the 4200mAh battery found on the Huawei Mate 20 Pro. As for the latter, Sony managed to skip the notch route yet again by offering an extra-tall display.

If that does not convince you, the Xperia XZ4’s triple rear cameras is a statement on its own. Headlining the rumored triple rear camera setup is a 52-megapixel f/1.8 main camera—the highest camera resolution in a smartphone. Accompanying it is a 16-megapixel f/2.6 telephoto lens and a 0.3-megapixel f/1.4 Time of Flight (ToF) sensor for depth sensing and augmented reality.

While those specs look darn impressive on paper, we will wait for Sony’s official announcement come February 25.
