LG’s got nothing on Sony

The GPU benchmarks of two upcoming flagship handsets from both Sony and LG have surfaced, and it seems that Sony’s upcoming Z4 leaves LG’s next flagship choking in the dust. The benchmark, done through GFXBench’s Manhattan 3.1, test the graphical prowess of devices both big and small. Sony’s Xperia Z4, which is rumored to receive Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 810 processor managed to score extremely high marks with its Adreno 430 GPU, coming in just below the Opus E350.

LG’s upcoming G4 however, is left far behind, as the new device is slated to receive Qualcomm’s hexa-core Snapdragon 808 with a far less powerful Adreno 418 GPU. To put things in perspective, Samsung’s Galaxy Note 4, released a few months ago and uses the Adreno 420 GPU scores higher than the G4 – which speaks volumes about LG’s choice to ditch the top tier processor for a lower spec’d one. While GFXBench only measures GPU performance it’s a good indicator of things to come.
