Starmobile has been on a roll as far as the looks of their hi-end devices is concerned, and the Octa looks to be the most beautiful of all the products that they’ve released. The front of the Octa is aluminum, while the back is plastic, though you wouldn’t have guessed it if you first see it – we thought the entire device used a n aluminum uni-body design, which is a testament to how amazing the device looks.

The Octa looks stunning,  looking more like something that would have come out of a company like say, HTC, rather than a pinoy brand like Starmobile.

Unfortunately this means that the Octa does not have expandable memory (or replaceable battery for that matter), but we’re pretty sure that the 32GB of inboard memory will be enough for most people.

We were surprised at the extremely zippy performance of the Octa. With AnTuTu, the Octa managed to score around 28375 points, a good 3K more than similarly specc’d, full HD devices from their competitors. A Starmobile rep told us that they managed to achieve such a zippy performance through software tweaks.

The Octa is also capable of wireless charging, with Starmobile throwing in a wireless charger (the device uses the Qi wireless charging standard) which also doubles as a wireless speaker. The Starmobile will also start selling NFC tags for the Octa, though the company says that any NFC tag (or device for that matter) will work with the Octa.

We know that a lot of you are wondering how much the Octa will retail for. Well, the Octa carries a pricetag of Php 16990, and should hit stores nationwide come April.
