New services and a new product for those who need secure and reliable storage solutions

For 2018, NAS, IP surveillance, and network equipment provider Synology revealed their plans for its Philippines expansion at Marco Polo Hotel Ortigas.

In their presentation, they acknowledge the country’s economic growth, along with its increased demand for data storage and cybersecurity.

Synology APAC Sales Account Manager Victor Wang emphasized that Synology’s competitive advantage is with its efficient security, very good reliability, and its easy-to-use user interface with their DSM operating system.

Since they have entered the Philippine market in 2013, Synology has experienced 50% growth in terms of sales in the Philippines. With the positive feedback, Synology aims to raise more brand awareness locally, starting with the Metro Manila area.

Part of its plans for the Philippines is the introduction of the Synology Replacement Service. The new service is dedicated to efficiently repair and replace faulty units. The service is available to all rackmount NAS servers and offers free two-way shipping and as early as next business day replacement for faulty units.

In addition, Synology introduced its Active Backup family of data protection software. The family includes Active Backup for Business, Active Backup for G Suite, and Active Backup for Office 365. All three offer protection depending on a user’s security needs.

Lastly, Synology unveiled a new model called the Rackstation RS1219+. The new product is a 2U rack-mount NAS storage that has 8 hard drive bays. It comes with 2GB DDR3 RAM that is expandable to 16GB and a slim 12-inch chassis design. Applications for the RS1219+ include small-to-medium businesses.
